Wine Country Animal Lovers leads the no-kill philosophy in the Napa Valley. We are a small, grassroots volunteer-run rescue group. Our animals all live in foster homes until they are adopted (we don’t have a physical shelter or facility). This means that every donation goes directly towards helping animals. WCAL assists with all things animal related in the Upper Napa Valley and we do our best to help our neighbors throughout Napa County, Lake County and Sonoma County.
We take in strays and pull animals in need from local shelters, placing them into loving foster homes where they receive top-notch veterinary care and reward-based training to help them get ready for adoption. Our volunteers save lives by transporting animals to our trusted rescue partners. Courtesy posts help families re-home their pets to keep them out of shelters. Thanks to our generous donors and veterinary partners, we offer charity medical support and free spay/neuter for owned cats and dogs as funding allows. WCAL helps lost animals get back home. We have a robust Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program for feral cats. Our experienced counselors are happy to recommend a force-free trainer or offer tips and advice to help keep animals in their homes for life.

We rescue all sorts of felines, including special needs cats and bottle-raised baby cats. Not ready for kitten energy? Maybe a sweet mama cat is more your speed!
Have a little room for a dog or cat in need? Consider becoming a temporary foster for a homeless animal. Our greatest need is large dog and adult cat fosters!
