Blondie is as sweet as pie and we love everything about her fantastic demeanor! This 7 year old German Shepherd joined WCAL just in time to save her life. She was diagnosed with Pyometra which is a life threatening infection of the uterus and she required an expensive emergency surgery to remove four dead puppies who hadn't made it to term. She had been a neglected breeder dog and her overused uterus had been through too much to support one more litter. We don't know much about her past, but the condition of her body tells us plenty. Her lower teeth are ground down from gnawing on bars or a chain and she had multiply types of intestinal worms when she arrived. Now she is spayed, parasite free, vaccinated, microchipped and so much happier! Blondie walks nice on a leash, is potty trained, likes other dogs and we are working on helping her gain a bit of weight with three meals a day. She is enjoying a cushy bed and snuggles on the couch too!
