(Briar Patch) Rubus

Don't overlook Rubus! He's not flashy like some of our other adoptable teen kittens, but he sure does know how to give and receive love! This shy guy sure is curious, and you can count on him to inspect everything thoroughly. Like his brothers, Rubus is a great explorer. He loves checking out every nook and cranny, low and high. Rubus will put himself right next to you on the couch, and that's how you know that you're his favorite! Rubus has figured out how to train his humans. Most recently, he taught them a “pet me” cue. When Rubus wants attention, he sits nearby and stares intensely. The second they make eye contact, he trots off into the bedroom like Lassie (follow me!). He heads straight to the bed and flops down for pets, inviting you to join him. As an excellent human trainer, Rubus knows that positive reinforcement works, so when his fosters respond correctly, they're rewarded with sweet kisses on their hands and a generous helping of soft, pettable tabby tummy. It’s a win-win. He’s very into other cats (you could say he’s a real cat’s cat) and will want a feline friend wherever he goes. 

 

Rubus is not a lap cat (he might be one day!) but he does like to come and curl up next to you on the couch and in the bed. He has a lot of love to give but he needs someone who will let him give and receive love at his own pace. Rubus would rather live in a home without little kids, but a respectful older kid or teen could absolutely become his favorite person. As a cat lover, his foster mom can vouch for the fact that he’s such a joy to have around. Not too demanding, super fun to watch when playing or cuddling with his brothers, and earning his love is such a rewarding feeling.
