(PUPPY) WALLACE

We are now accepting adoption applications for Wallace the puppy! This little guy is going to be a BIG dog. He has been bottle-raised since he was just three weeks old. Tragedy struck his family and the streets are no place for a young pup, but luckily he was rescued before anything bad happened. Wallace is learning to play and eat puppy chow on his own. He is very loving and curious. Just this week Wallace learned to climb the steps into his foster home. He sleeps through the night and is crate trained which has really helped with potty training. Wallace is a good communicator about when he needs to go outside. He loves interacting with other dogs and especially loves meeting new people. 

We ask that all WCAL puppy adopters commit to attending a 5 or 6 week-long reward-based training class with their new puppy (we'll help you find a qualified, dog-friendly trainer near you). This is the best way we know how to help you bond with your new pup, give you access to current training techniques and ensure that your new dog becomes a well-rounded member of society. We believe in being proactive and know that the best time to train a dog is NOW! It's important that the dogs we rescue get the very best start to reduce their chances of being surrendered to a shelter or banished to a backyard as an unruly, untrained adolescent who is no longer cute and small. While we can guess that this puppy will grow to be a LARGE dog, we have not met either parent and do not know the specific breed mix. Most of the puppies that we rescue from Lake County are a combination of 5 or 6 different breeds including multiple breeds often identified as pit bulls so it's important to verify that this pup will be welcomed by your landlord and homeowners insurance, regardless of breed.
