This charismatic guy is Cauliflower, and we TNR'd him last fall at a colony of feral cats that WCAL manages (TNR stands for Trap, Neuter, Return). He has been making friends with all the nice humans who feed the colony, and at around 12 years old, we have been keeping a close eye on him. One of his biggest fans even bought a brush to start giving him grooming love sessions when they visited! Recently, Cauliflower suffered a minor injury that required medical care and now he is relaxing comfortably in a WCAL foster home with no plans to return to his former life outdoors. The abscess on his neck has healed, his nails were trimmed, he's been dewormed, had a tooth pulled and now he is vaccinated and microchipped, too. Cauliflower had large wax plugs in his scarred ears that were removed so he can hear us talking to him! He is looking really great after "the works" from our veterinary team. We're enjoying the opportunity to spoil him with a little (or a lot) of TLC now that he is in a foster home. This crusty old kitty is a WCAL favorite for so many reasons and now he's not so crusty anymore! His coat is soft like a bunny and he thinks long brushing sessions and canned food are THE BEST. Cauliflower didn't hesitate to make himself right at home with his fosters. Head butts, purring, even playing with a ribbon toy, this 12-year-old is pretty happy in his foster home. Cauliflower is even willing to learn to be a large lap cat! You should see him snoring with his head on a little pillow...
Cauliflower is no spring chicken. After living outdoors for over a decade, he's got some battle wounds and health conditions that we can't erase, but they just add character, and the right adopter won't mind. Gnarled ears and FIV are a few of the things we can't change. This cat is pure gratitude, and we are pleased to be able to offer him the opportunity to find a cushy retirement home indoors with a kind, understanding family of cat lovers. He humors us by letting us dress him up and call him silly names. If you think you might be the human for Cauliflower, please get in touch! We are happy to answer ALL of your questions and will arrange meet and greets for those who complete an adoption application for this ruggedly handsome dude.
