Individual Volunteer

  • Review the positions listed in light of your interest level, availability, and particular skills and experience.
  • City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a foster based rescue. At this time we do not have a facility for animals and are unable to assist with volunteer requests looking to work with animals on a daily basis.
  • Please consider how much time you will have available to assist. Our needs vary from short-term opportunities to leadership opportunities.

Group Volunteers

At this time we do not have a physical shelter.  If your group would like to support our rescue efforts there are many creative ways to help.

Volunteers who help us with animal care go through training and make a weekly commitment to a volunteer position. If you are interested in helping in this way see the opportunities below. 

Internship Opportunity - Fall Semester

Communications Intern:

If you are a college or graduate student who has a passion for animal rescue and is looking to build your portfolio apply for our part-time internship.
The position is unpaid, but we are able to work with you for college credit or volunteer hours requirements.

Adoption Counselors:

We are always in need of more adoption counselors. Please complete the application if you are interested. Our adoption counselors have a lot of interaction with potential adopters and fosters. It takes about three hours to process each adoption application and we ask that volunteers try and process one application at a time. This is a very important job because our ability to take in more animals depends upon our ability to process adoption applications in an expedient manner. (Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per week)
