Ready 9/26 after spay day! Marley is a big sweetie. He likes playing in his water bowl and being held like a baby. He's got a healthy bark and knows how to make sure he's the center of attention. Marley is really good about cuddling and sharing toys with his siblings.
This litter of puppies came to WCAL from heartbreaking, deplorable conditions. Three puppies had already died and the seven remaining puppies were starving. They were bathed, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for woogies and germs thanks to a detailed fecal panel. All seven pups have started putting on healthy weight and are becoming happy and active.
We ask that all WCAL puppy adopters commit to attending a 4 week-long reward-based training class with their new puppy (we'll help you find a qualified, dog-friendly trainer near you). This is the best way we know how to help you bond with your new pup, give you access to current training techniques and ensure that your new dog becomes a well-rounded member of society. We believe in being proactive and know from experience that the best time to train any dog is NOW! The dogs we rescue must get the very best start to reduce their chances of being surrendered to a shelter or banished to a backyard as unruly or fearful, untrained adolescents who are no longer cute and small. If you don't have time to attend training classes with a puppy or aren't home enough to give them three meals a day while they finish growing up, please consider choosing an adult dog or waiting to adopt until your schedule is more flexible.
We have one photo of the mama dog who appears to be a grey and white pit mix and the family has no idea who the daddy dog could be. While we can guess that this puppy will grow to be a LARGE dog, we have not met either parent and do not know the specific breed mix. Before applying to adopt, it's important to verify that this pup will be welcomed by your landlord and homeowners insurance, regardless of breed. Many insurance companies do not discriminate against pit mixes, but sadly some still do.
