( Adult) Lionel

Hi! My Name Is ( Adult) Lionel

Lionel is 3 years young and he's looking for a home where he'll get tons of attention. This big boy had a partial tail amputation because he arrived to the shelter with a serious injury. The vet said he was a good kitty and they gave him a cute little bob-tail. This friendly guy likes to share the couch or your bed at night. He's got a great coat and likes to be brushed. Lionel tested positive for both FIV & FeLV so we'll be looking to place him as your only kitty, or with another FeLV+ kitty, or perhaps in a home with a nice doggo! He has good litter box skills and would benefit from a high-sided litter box so he can dig to his heart's content. Lionel is a sweet and gentle kitty that will make the perfect addition to your family.

Medical details: Lionel isn't showing any symptoms of illness and we wouldn't have known he had been exposed to either disease if it weren't for a routine blood test. Neither FIV or FeLV can be transmitted to humans or dogs. Cats with FIV can live a long, happy life. FeLV tends to primarily impact kittens and it's rare to see this virus in an otherwise healthy adult. We're sure there is someone out there who will enjoy spoiling Lionel rotten, just like he deserves. He doesn't require anything you wouldn't already provide for your pet: good food, low stress and regular veterinary care as needed. Lionel should be an indoor-only cat to minimize his chances of injury or infection and to prevent the spread of FeLV or FIV to unvaccinated cats.
